Five-time Olympic cycling champion Dame Dame Laura Kenny has been announced as the President for Commonwealth Games England, following in the footsteps of Dames Kelly Holmes and Denise Lewis.
Kenny commented 'The Commonwealth Games is a very special event and I'm excited to go back to Glasgow, where I was part of the team in 2014, in this new role. I love the unique feel of the event and I'm thrilled to work with and support England's athletes as they prepare for Glasgow and future Commonwealth Youth Games too. I have devoted my life to cycling and while that sport will always be my passion, it is great to have the opportunity to pass on some of my experience to athletes from a wider range of sports'.
